Manuel Escudero

Director General of Deusto Business School, University of Deusto / Spain

Manuel Escudero is the Director General of Deusto Business School and a special adviser to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). He is founding father of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), a United Nations-supported initiative, with more than 330 business schools participating around the world. He has been Head of the Secretariat of (PRME) since its inception in 2007 until June 2010. Dr. Escudero worked as the Executive Director of the Research Center for the Global Compact at the Levin Institute in the State University of New York (SUNY). He was Professor of Macroeconomics at IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. During his career at the IE Business School, he was Research Dean and Faculty Dean, Associate General Director of the IE Business School and founder and Associate Director of the IE Executive College. He has written 8 books, more than 100 op-ed articles, 5 public reports, and 20 working papers. He has participated as Director/Keynote Speaker/Speaker in 86 Conferences in 25 countries. He holds a B.Sc. from Escuela Superior de Técnicas Empresariales (ESTE, Spain), and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.
