Dr. Susanne Lang

Executive Director of CCCD - Centre for Corporate Citizenship Deutschland / Germany

Dr. Susanne Lang holds a degree in Political Science (Diploma) and Doctor of Philosophy. Before founding the CCCD in 2005, she has worked as an independent political consultant at the intersection of politics and academia, both in Germany and abroad, since 2001. Her thematic focus is on civic engagement / civil society and corporate citizenship.
Prior to this, she worked as a Social Policy Advisor in the Landesvertretung der Freien und Hansestadt Hamburg beim Bund [Federal Representation Office of City of Hamburg] (1998-2001), as a Public Relations Advisor in a department of the Behörde für Arbeit, Gesundheit und Soziales [Agency for Work, Health and Social Welfare] in Hamburg (1997-1998), and as a trainee at the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation for academic political consulting (1995-1996).

Susanne Lang is, among other things, a co-founder of the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation working group “Bürgergesellschaft und Aktivierender Staat” [“Civil Society and the Activating State”], co-founder and board member of Mittenmang Schleswig-Holstein e.V. – a volunteer center for and by people with disabilities (www.mittenmang.info).
